Triumph America

America is Triumphs version of the classic American cruiser, which truly lives up to its name. Made in England, the design is eye catching and what really give it its sexy appearance are the fuel tank and fenders. Chrome treatment on the bike stands out with chrome on the case sides, rims, headlights, rear shocks, and the readouts on the front of the bike. Even the tank features chrome badges. It has a striking similarity to the 1969 version of the Triumph Bonneville.
Scoring high on the comfort section, the bike is no less than any of the other bikes up for sale today. The saddle height is about 30.5 inches and thin and long and allows the rider to change their position on long rides. It is thus a great option for beginners and for traditional bike lovers. The padding on the seat is good enough for long runs and would probably attract a lot of people. The handlebars too are adjustable and would suit a lot of people. The whole seating arrangement is blended pretty well. The breaking and suspension are very comfortable for long rides too as they don't put too much strain on the rider.
The Triumph America comes with a powerful 865 cc, parallel-twin engine and delivers a power of 61 bhp @ 7400 RPM and 74 Nm torque @ 3300 RPM. It is expected to give a mileage of about 20 to 25 kmpl. The engine with an electronic fuel injection assembly installed can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in about 5 seconds which is very good for a cruiser of this class.
The suspension in particular is a stiff, dual downtube frame and mild stell with a rectangular backbone. A traditional non-adjusted telescopic fork of 40mm with 4.7 inches travel controls the 19 inches front wheel while the rear wheel is of 17 inches. The provided suspension at both ends is solid yet not callous, which makes it great at handling. Both the tyres are made of Aluminium that makes it more attractive.
The Front suspension of the coming masterpiece Triumph America are 40mm telescopic fork, non-adjustable 40mm, while the rear is pre-load adjustable, dual shock that being associated with the front and rear tires gives you an unforgettable experience of riding while you are on a long-go.
Being fitted out with the truly powerful engine, great suspension and stiff body fittings, the new Triumph America becomes great to ride, control and handle even if you are on the rough roads, whereas the weight of this bike is comparatively lesser than other cruiser, which makes it much more comfortable in riding on city roads too.
Although Triumph hasn’t included the America in their current Indian line-up, but expect the bike to be very well there in their next line-up which should be here in the first quarter of 2012. The bike will be priced very competitively to compete with the existing bikes of the segment expect it to sport a price tag of around 7.5-8.5 lakh.
