Porsche to Give Indian Market another Shot

Porsche is here. Yes, the much awaited German automaker is all set to bring back the Porsche models to India with the appointment of six dealerships across the country and the finalisation of prices. Porsche India will initiate its operations in India with dealerships in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Mumbai. Porsche India has started work on new facilities that are estimated to be operational around 2013.

Until that happens however, Porsche has provided for the taking of orders for the Porsche range of cars across all six dealerships and has promised to initiate the deliveries of the first units to customers soon. Until these new centres are operational, the dealerships will handle all requests from temporary facilities. Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India stated; “Since our business establishment in April, we have been working hard to develop the basic dealer network. With the appointment of six dealers in less than four months, I am pleased to say that this has been one of the fastest business ramp ups in the luxury automotive sector. And, I must add, we have more planned for this year.”



In addition to this, Porsche India has also set-up a team of trained and mobile technicians who will go out and promote after-sales along with other members and meet with customers for brand promotion.

Porsche India has also announced a new pricing structure as part of the brands re-launch in India. The Porsche model range will be available from a starting price of Rs. 61.4 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the Porsche Cayenne SUV, while the Diesel version of the same will start at Rs. 68.3 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The basic retail price for the Panamera diesel is set at Rs. 99.00 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai).
